Launch a forum built around the core interests of Sector Network: games, tech, development, design, collaboration, etc. Embody an old-school vibe while finding ways to stay relevant in a social media-driven age.
Create a monthly or quarterly newsletter regarding Sector Network: building projects, livestreaming, dev blogs, links to PC sector content, etc. Use open source tooling to create/manage the newsletters, and creating/deploying an easy-to-use system with a nice email template or system.
Build a webpage for sectornetwork.com. First up: determine what I actually want to show/what the purpose would be of the homepage. Still a lot of work to do, but progress has been made on visual design and branding.
Finish the design, determine a tech stack, and start implementing said design of a small-scope PC review and gaming news site. Think: PC Gamer but 100x smaller, focused on the interests of what I’m playing + finding other journalist / creators to collaborate. Currently in a design stage.
Stretch goal of building an API and a basic frontend for a user account system. These accounts would be used across websites for things like leaving comments, voting or responses, and eventually power different mini websites.
Future 2026 plans that would connect/use that API as a central, single user login
Minisite for building and sharing your Game of the Year list
Generator-style website for creating a unique challenge and storyline for a Project Zomboid character
Connect newsletter?
Offer API to other related communities?
Posting this as a high-level direction for some of the projects I’m working on this year, and hopefully will launch. The stretch goal is a bit out of my comfort zone, but think I can make headway using tutorials, Supabase, and a bit of Gemini/ChatGPT to boot.
Plan to post one of these goal reviews each year of the things I’m trying to build out, and hopefully will have a recap at the end of the year as well.
